Located in Baton Rouge, LA this position reports to the Fluorine Products Capital Engineering Leader.Principal Duties & Responsibilities:-Manage the execution of capital investments through their entire life cycles in areas assigned, including: prioritization, scope development, risk assessments, budgeting, engineering/design, procurement, construction execution, commissioning, startup, and project closure documentation-Ensure the safe execution of all projects managed or in assigned areas, while working with appropriate HSE personnel ensuring all government agency requirements (i.e., permits, notifications) are satisfied -Integrate plant personnel into the capital project management process to ensure results that meet the needs of the plant Customers-Work closely with the business finance and site controller to provide project evaluation and economic analysis on the capital investments for such managed projects. Manage the overall effort leading to an approved Appropriation Request (AR). -Provide support for the Business Strategic Planning, Annual Operating Plan and the Six Sigma Initiatives in order to develop appropriate capital plans/budgets.-Monitor and control projects to meet the stated objectives and metrics commitments in the AR (both managed and in areas assigned). Working knowledge of Project Controls (Estimating, Scheduling, and Cost Control).-Maintain accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting and management of capital expenditures on a continuous basis. Interface with key site and company personnel to make maximum use of available resources. Such functions will include, but not limited to, site engineering resources, purchasing, operations, systems, and business engineering, as well as equipment vendors, contracting firms. -Participate in Site Leadership Team meetings as the representative for Capital Project Engineering.-Handle necessary eMOC items in areas assigned and PSSR requirements on projects assigned. -Oversee appropriate maintenance and records of all drawings, specifications, programs, and other documentation for such managed projects.-Advocate for strong safety awareness program with a consistent implementation of policies and procedures and participate in construction safety audits and contractor safety meetings.-Mentor less experienced Project Managers and Engineers.-Oversee team of Honeywell or Contract employees-Deliver projects on time, in accordance with the scopes of the projects and within targeted costs-Use SAP, EcoSys, and project management tools to cost-estimate, plan and execute projects-Use and obtain approvals for Change Orders to reflect changes to the project plans-Identify all internal/external resources for successful project execution, and ensure the necessary resources are assigned to the project appropriately by their respective managers-Coordinate all project activities between internal process design team, design houses, and contractors-Ensure customer satisfaction requirements and final process design package standards are met-Regularly report project progress to manager and project steering team. Identify any problems with cost over-runs or schedule delays to manager as early as possible - no surprises-Maintain effective communication among internal process design team and contractors during the term of the projects-Responsible for the preparation of bid packages and requests for quotes for materials, equipment, and services-Responsible for the preparation of work order packages for construction-Be an advocate for safety awareness with a consistent implementation of policies and procedures and participate in construction safety audits and contractor safety meetingsKey Success Factors:· Achieve World Class safety performance on all assigned capital projects· Develop a strong familiarity with the Performance Materials and Technologies Capital Project Management Process (CPMP) and other engineering work policies and procedures· Mentor peers and team members· Develop thorough project execution plans which define scope, schedules, estimates, design deliverables, and procurement plans· Successfully manage the portfolio of assigned capital investments; assign appropriate resources; ensure all goals and metrics are met or exceeded· Skillfully apply work processes, including Capital Project Management Process (CPMP), Honeywell's financial systems, value engineering, earned value of work performed, etc· Ensure best practices are continuously improved and standardized upon· Timely and effectively communicate within all levels of the organization· Demonstrate the ability to form and lead teams in the resolution of problems and the application of sustained solutions· Demonstrate excellent people and project management skillsU.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization#Li-HybridMust Haves:· BS degree in Engineering· Minimum 7 years experience of increasingly related responsibilities in the capital project management and execution processWe Value:· BS degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering preferred· Manufacturing experience in chemical plants preferred· Strong working knowledge of plant operations and processes preferred· Experience in the management of financial budgets, projects, troubleshooting, team building, and overall leadership· Experience working with contract engineering firms· Six Sigma Greenbelt (or Blackbelt) certification or equivalent experience implementing productivity / continuous improvement projects· Formal training and certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP)· Customer Focused - Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customersHoneywell is an equal opportunity employer.
