Job Description
Claiborne Senior Living is hiring CNA's and Resident Assistants for our beautiful new assisted living community in Central, Louisiana, The Claiborne at Shoe Creek. . The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing personal assistance and routine daily care and services related to the residents in accordance with the Resident Care Plan.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists residents in their Activities of Daily Living (ADL) tasks as needed and directed. This includes bathing, grooming, personal and dental hygiene, transportation to meals and activities, bowel and bladder functions (e.g., take to bathroom, portable commode, change incontinency products, etc.), shaving, dressing, and hair care.
Provides resident comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting residents; answering resident’s call lights and requests; reporting observations of the resident to nursing supervisor
Responds to resident’s needs promptly while maintaining each resident’s self- respect, personal dignity, personal safety and confidentiality.
Assists residents into and out of bed and wheelchair as needed, following safe lifting/transferring techniques.
Assists Life Enrichment staff in carrying out planned activities.
Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs and records electronically.
Uses Universal Precautions and follow established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids.
Serves and protects the community by adhering to professional standards, community policies and procedures, state and local requirements.
Updates job knowledge by participating in education opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations and maintaining certification/licensure.
Maintains a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents and guests, following established safety standards.
Encourages teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
Performs other duties consistent with the position as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Complete an accredited CNA course
Valid State-Specific CNA license
Ability to work under pressure and relate well to residents
CPR certification a plus
Excellent bedside manner
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working with an electronic health record system
Must have a High School Diploma or GED
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Must have a minimum of one-year prior experience
Must enjoy the senior population
Enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Continuous walking, bending and standing
Must be able to perform work both inside and outside, which requires stooping, bending and lifting of approximately 75 pounds
