Cenikor Foundation is a non profit organization and one of the largest substance abuse treatment centers in the nation. We are currently seeking part time LIcensed Practitioner Nurse for our short-term facility in Baton Rouge, LA.
Schedule: every other Saturday & Sunday 7am-7pm

JOB SUMMARY:
The Nurse is responsible for working closely with program and clinical staff to provide health services for Cenikor clients and staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Complete assessments on all residents prior to seeing physician.
Document medical history, copy recent vitals for physicians review.
Schedule doctor appointments for residents, write orders and obtain doctors authorization.
Accurately assess and treat minor client health problems
Establish positive relationship with physician to assist residents.
Place orders for prescription medication refills and complete all required documentation for physicians review and approval to be billed.
Uphold the core principles of Cenikors culture and create a positive working environment for all team members.
Maintain strict confidentiality on all client and foundation matters and refer questionable issues to your supervisor.
Perform additional duties as assigned and consistent with the non-exempt functions as defined in this job description.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of pharmacology as it relates to individuals with substance abuse and mental health disorders.
Knowledge of the therapeutic community philosophy preferred.
Excellent assessment and communication skills.
Experienced in providing medical care to a diverse ethnic and cultural population.
Possesses good time management skills needed to meet aggressive deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required, including specific MS Outlook calendar experience.
Patience, perseverance, and resilience in a challenging environment.
Excellent documentation skills.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years nursing experience preferably in providing care for individuals with alcohol and substance abuse, mental health and chemical dependency treatment.
Experience with electronic health record preferred.
Licensure Required:
Current licensure as LPN
Current certification in CPR and First Aid
