Responsibilities:
The Production Mechanic shall:
Perform scheduled maintenance, according to the Preventive Maintenance Log.
Maintain and update Preventive Maintenance Log as needed.
Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
Repair, replace, and adjust equipment, machines, and defective components.
Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical or human errors contributed to the problem.
Coordinate with supervisor and equipment operator on machine changeovers.
Read and understand technical manuals for equipment operating & maintenances.
Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems & repair.
Use a variety of hand, power tools, along with shop machinery to repair and fabricate as needed.
Send defective units to the manufacturer or to a specialized repair shop for repair.
On-call for over phone support to troubleshoot equipment problems.
Collect tools and store in designated area at the end of each shift.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean & orderly work area.
Education:
High School diploma or GED certificate
Experience:
Basic troubleshooting and computer knowledge.
Pay Range: $14-$16 / Hour
