Supplemental InformationThis posting is for a part-time temporary, 9-month, unclassified, faculty position. Salary will be pro-rated based on start date. Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant who is licensed in the state of Louisiana and registered by NBCOT

Minimum of a baccalaureate degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE recognized regional or national accredited body

Instructional experience preferred but not required

Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of occupational therapy with documented expertise in area(s) of teaching responsibility

Must demonstrate awareness of and commitment to abide by the current code of ethics and standards of practice for the profession of occupational therapy

Examples of WorkOccupational Therapy Assistant Program Faculty:The teaching responsibility consists of 4 sections per academic year in a possible combination of day, weekend, online, and evening classes. Additional responsibilities will include the following:

Provide input to the educational experience within the OTA program which includes development and ongoing revision of curriculum design (course syllabi, learning outcomes, learning outcome assessments, instructional strategies, clinical experiences, use of clinical assessments)

Collect and analyze fieldwork data and communicate findings to AFWC

Collect and analyze data received from surveys and communicate findings to Program Director

Supervise students on fieldtrips.

Teach OTA course content and contribute to student understanding of the principles of teaching and learning in an academic setting.

Collaborate with the program director and AFWC to plan and implement program strategies for improvement.

Collaborate with the program director and AFWC on textbook review and adoption.

Assist the program director and AFWC with program admissions (spreadsheet creation, data entry, applicant interviews, letters and orientation meetings) by serving on the program admission committee.

Participate in professional development activities in accordance with the standard of the profession and the program accrediting agency.

Maintain all qualifications and licensure required by ACOTE, LSBME, NBCOT and AOTA.

Advise and counsel program students and potential students.

Be accountable for 15 hours per week.

Other duties, as assigned.
