The Teche is a fine-casual restaurant opening in historic downtown Morgan City, Louisiana. Our mission: to celebrate local flavors and Southern hospitality while delivering a polished, modern dining experience. We’re looking for a General Manager to join us on the ground floor and help shape the guest experience from day one.
As GM, you’ll be more than an operator — you’ll be the partner to our Owner/Executive Chef in building culture, systems, and reputation. This is a unique opportunity to step into a leadership role with influence across service, training, community engagement, and growth.
What You’ll Do
Oversee all front-of-house operations: guest service, staffing, scheduling, and daily execution.
Build, train, and mentor a high-performing FOH team with clear service standards.
Partner with the Executive Chef and bar lead to ensure seamless FOH/BOH communication.
Manage FOH inventory, bar costs, payroll, and daily financial reporting.
Maintain strict standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance.
Handle guest relations, feedback, and neighborhood outreach.
Lead marketing efforts: social media, community events, press opportunities.
Support the launch of the restaurant — from hiring and training to hosting soft openings.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience as a General Manager or FOH leader in a full-service restaurant.
Strong skills in team development, service standards, and guest relations.
Business acumen: ability to forecast sales, manage labor costs, and oversee budgets.
Comfort with restaurant technology (POS systems, scheduling, payroll).
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced opening environment and set up systems from scratch.
Collaborative, professional, and passionate about hospitality.
