Description Our 3rd generation and growing family-owned client is adding a new Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join their team based in Kenner, Louisiana. In this role, you will be tasked with overseeing and managing various accounting functions. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the general ledger system, preparing financial statements, researching accounting issues, coordinating the budget process, and supervising accounting staff.Responsibilities Oversee and manage various accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Billing Functions. Ensure the accuracy of ledger entries and reconciliations. Maintain the general ledger system to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Assist with regulatory reporting as needed. Research accounting issues for compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Coordinate and oversee the budget process to ensure all financial data is accurate. Supervise accounting staff, including hiring and training new staff members. Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action as needed. Conduct month end close procedures efficiently and accurately.For this newly created role to support the growth of the company and the accounting department, our client is requiring a 4 year accounting or finance degree with 5+ years of full cycle accounting experience including month end close, budgeting and analysis experience. Proficiency in managing accounting functions is required. Demonstrated experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential. Must have experience in billing functions and month-end close processes. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and leadership skills are necessary. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required. Must have a strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred. Experience in creating financial statements and general ledger functions is essential. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically are necessary. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is essential. Should be detail-oriented and have strong organization and planning skills. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations is preferred. Ability to work collaboratively with a team as well as independently. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff and external partners are required.
