DESCRIPTIONWe are looking for a talented Engine workshop Diesel Technician Level 2 to join our Distribution business in Kenner, Louisiana.In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
Disassemble, inspect, clean and reassemble engines and /or engine components.
Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines.
Assist more experienced technicians with diagnostics and development of repair plans engines in the workshop.
Complete required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
Complete training in line with skill and business requirements.
Maintain work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
Adhere to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisors.
RESPONSIBILITIESIn order to be successful in this role you will need the following:Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
Some relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on an intermediate number of products in-scope for technician at this location; primarily engaged in moderately complex maintenance and repair; some exposure to moderate or complex diagnostics, requires limited direct supervision, may provide basic training or guidance to new technicians.
Working hours are 8am to 5pm Monday-Friday.5000sign on bonus is eligible for this positionCompensation and BenefitsBase salary rate commensurate with experience. Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
A current valid license is required for this role
Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This role will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
