Description We are in search of a Tax Staff - Public to join our team located in Lafayette, Indiana. As a Tax Staff - Public, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with tax regulations, providing strategic tax planning, and managing various tax-related projects. Your duties will range from analyzing financial statements to supervising a team of tax professionals.Responsibilities: Develop and implement tax-saving strategies for clients to optimize their financial positions. Analyze financial statements and transactions to identify opportunities for tax efficiency. Provide proactive advice on potential tax implications of business decisions and transactions. Supervise and mentor a team of tax professionals, ensuring timely and accurate completion of projects. Implement and maintain quality control procedures to uphold the firm's standards of excellence. Review workpapers and documentation to guarantee the accuracy of financial information and compliance with regulations. Lead the preparation and review of complex individual and business tax returns. Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring accurate and up-to-date compliance. Provide guidance to junior staff on tax code interpretations and client-specific tax matters. Act as a primary point of contact for high-profile clients, fostering strong and trusting relationships. Conduct client meetings to discuss tax strategies, identify opportunities for savings, and address potential challenges. Requirements Hold a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role. Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems. Experience with CaseWare, CCH IntelliConnect, CCH Prosystem, and CCH ProSystem Fx. Able to handle various Accounting Functions. Knowledge and experience in Auditing and Compliance. Familiarity with Entity Formation and Financial Statement creation. Experience in handling Annual Income Tax Provision and Corporate Income Tax. Proficiency in Corporate Tax Compliance and Corporate Tax Return preparation. Experience in Public Accounting Tax and Partnership Tax Returns. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
