Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Metairie, Louisiana. This role is primarily involved in managing accounts receivable, preparing customer invoices, and ensuring accurate financial records. The Sr. Accountant will work closely with the finance team to ensure financial regulations are met and to assist with financial closing at the end of each month.Responsibilities: Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely billing and posting of payments Prepare customer statements, bills, and invoices Reconcile expenses to the general ledger Collaborate with sales tax departments and assist with multi-state sales tax filing and compliance Utilize MS Excel to prepare and maintain accounts receivable reports Collaborate with the finance team to perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings Assist with accounts payable when needed, including processing invoices and issuing payments Perform data analysis to identify areas of revenue growth, cost reduction or process improvement Develop and maintain customer relationships and investigate any discrepancies Ensure proper record keeping and compliance with financial regulations Requirements Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field Proven experience in a similar role, preferably as a Sr. Accountant Demonstrated skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations In-depth knowledge of General Ledger management and Journal Entries Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Experience with Month End Close procedures Familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR) processes Understanding of Monthly Sales Tax calculations and Sales Tax regulations Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of accounting.
