Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance EngineerJob DescriptionThe Reliability Maintenance Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of equipment within a metal manufacturing plant. They focus on managing risk, minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and optimizing maintenance practices.Responsibilities: Maintenance Strategies:o Analyzes equipment performance, failure data, and corrective maintenance history to develop and deploy engineering solutions, improved maintenance strategies, preventive maintenance optimization, and other reliability techniques. Risk Assessment:Utilizes predictive, preventive, and precision maintenance technologies and strategies designed to identify or control risks prior to failure and ensure optimum maintenance execution. Collaboration:Provides technical service to operations and manufacturing personnel on equipment-related troubleshooting efforts. Total Cost:o Maximizes equipment reliability while considering economic factors.Evaluate the impact of projects (reconfigurations, design changes) on meeting customer needs.The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading a diverse, represented hourly workforce in day-to-day operational activities, maintenance of equipment and troubleshooting efforts, as well as interacting with all levels of the organization on a wide range of business issues. This position reports to the Superintendent, of Maintenance.Hard Skills

Experience solving problems with machinery that lead to downtime or poor quality

CAPEX projects - justification for cost of improvements and safety, work with vendors/contractors

Preventive maintenance experience, including vibration analysis and root cause failure analysis

Experience in foundry and metal melting environments

Troubleshooting various equipment, including valves, pressure sensors, presses, and hydraulic equipment

Preventive maintenance of furnaces and hydraulic presses/equipment

Equipment installations and repairs

Substation experience

Development of standards for switch gears

Power correction and required maintenance

Forging experience with large presses and large forming operations

Soft Skills

Collaboration with operations and manufacturing personnel

Leadership in managing a diverse workforce

Effective communication with all levels of the organization
