Job SummaryAre you a journey line technician, who is ready to train the next generation? Alliant Energy is currently hiring for a Senior Technical Trainer - Line for the Wisconsin Territory! This position can be located in one of our Wisconsin operating centers.In this leadership role you'll have the opportunity to assist in hiring and training new line technicians and dispatch employees, along with switch qualification for all electric employees and managers. This position also develops and conducts other required electric training that arises throughout the company on a frequent basis. This position helps with engineering projects, contractor training, SCADA, ADMS, and URG training and helps with tests for the line tech, electric meter, and substation apprenticeship programs.The person in this role is also responsible for training new Field Technicians and Local Reps with electric responsibilities. This position will also help train the new utility laborer employees so they can successfully bid apprentice positions.This position will travel up to 50% to operation centers throughout the WPL territory.What you will do

A plan, designs, develops, and delivers complex technical training programs. Areas of training include standardization of work practices, use of technology and work quality issues.

Conducts training needs assessments, evaluates training program effectiveness, and makes suggestions for improvements.

Monitors feedback and solicits input to ensure company and business unit needs are met.

Evaluates current and past participants. Identifies skill gaps and measures retention of learned material.

Participates in evaluation and purchase of training materials.

Identifies alternative training solutions and cost-effective delivery methods.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Required Experience

Positions in Wisconsin require candidate to have obtained Journeyman status in technical area of expertise

5 years of experience in training and/or specific technical discipline

Other Requirements

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Demonstrated ability to facilitate groups, lead meetings, and adjust presentations to meet the diverse needs of the audience.

Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Working knowledge of adult learning theories preferred.

Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management) and audiovisual equipment.

Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
