Based in Natchitoches, you will work in the assembly technical support team to accomplish the manufacturing goals safety, quality, productivity, and cost. Monitor key manufacturing objectives and develop and execute projects that aligns with gaps in performance. You will support automation and controls systems for new processes, capacity expansion programs, process improvements, and plant operations.AS A CONTROLS ENGINEER, YOU WILL:

Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.

Designs and installs electrical control systems per code requirements and company specifications.

Programs and troubleshoots various types of PLCs, operator interfaces, servo motion controllers, and robots.

Utilizes Microsoft SQL server for data collection.

Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.

Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

Work with outside integrators and machine builders to confirm new equipment meets design requirements and performs as expected

Develop documentation for use by operators and maintenance technicians to perform their duties and assist them in troubleshooting.

REQUIRED EDUCTION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Strong Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLC experience

Associate of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering/Engineering Technology or equivalent; OR equivalent work experience would also be considered

Previous experience technical or technical support role

Excellent interpersonal skills and proven leadership experience

Previous project management experience

Strong computer skills (Microsoft Excel and Word)

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

2+ years experience in a high volume, discreet manufacturing environment

Background in robotic welding processes

Fanuc robotics

Experience reading and troubleshooting machine electrical drawings

Understanding of industrial networking systems, including Ethernet/IP and PLC communications

Experience with vision verification systems

Good organizational, project management, and presentation skills

Experience in Lean Manufacturing fundamentals

Capital equipment procurement experience, including specification, purchase, qualification, and installation

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering/Engineering Technology or equivalent; OR equivalent work experience would also be considered
