Job Summary
The Bartender at Crescent City Café is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests by preparing and serving beverages in a timely, friendly, and professional manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, and beer, and will be able to create a welcoming atmosphere for both regulars and new customers. A commitment to hospitality, excellent communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are key to success in this role.
### Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and Serve Beverages: Craft a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including cocktails, beer, wine, and specialty drinks in accordance with customer preferences and company standards.
- Customer Service: Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders, answering questions about drink menus, and providing recommendations.
- Bar Setup and Maintenance: Ensure the bar is fully stocked with necessary supplies, including liquor, garnishes, glassware, and mixers. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area at all times.
- Follow Health and Safety Standards: Comply with all food and beverage regulations, ensuring that all drinks are prepared hygienically and that bar cleanliness standards are upheld.
- Cash Handling: Accurately process payments through the point-of-sale (POS) system, manage tabs, and handle cash or credit transactions responsibly.
- Inventory Management: Assist in tracking bar inventory and notifying management when stock levels are low.
- Responsible Alcohol Service: Monitor customer alcohol consumption, ensure responsible service of alcohol, and identify situations where intervention may be necessary to prevent over-serving.
- Collaboration with Team: Work closely with other staff members, including barbacks, servers, and kitchen staff, to ensure seamless service and a positive guest experience.
- Knowledge of Menu: Stay up to date with the Crescent City Café’s drink offerings, including seasonal specials, and communicate promotions and new items to guests.
### Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of bartending experience preferred, with knowledge of cocktail preparation and bar operations.
- Certification: Must be of legal age to serve alcohol and possess any required local or state alcohol serving certifications.
- Customer-Oriented: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with a diverse clientele.
- Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy and high-pressure environment.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in measuring and mixing ingredients and ensuring presentation standards are met.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and handle the physical demands of the job, such as reaching, bending, and moving around the bar area.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
