General Information

1000 Figs is a small restaurant in Faubourg St. John (Ponce de Leon and Esplanade Ave.) with a fresh, vegetable-forward, Middle Eastern-inspired menu. Our restaurant seeks to serve vibrant, thoughtful food with warm and delightful service. We are looking for a restaurant team that is passionate about making great food, giving excellent service, and being a part of a workplace community that is fun, supportive, and engaged.

This position requires strong communication skills, organization, and an eagerness to constantly learn and improve. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team while interacting respectfully with coworkers, managers, and customers.

Dishwasher/Porter Job Description

Performance Expectations (Essential Functions)

Cleaning all kitchen and dining room dishes during lunch and/or dinner service

Washing dishes in compliance with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

Put all dishes away in the appropriate places

Maintaining a clean and organized work space

Maintaining high standards of quality and ensuring all dishes that go through the station are perfectly cleaned and sanitized

Complete all dishes and clean up dish station at the end of the shift

Assist in food preparation

Safely using knives to prepare items

Help out other co-workers when necessary (running food, clearing tables, etc.)

Perform other kitchen duties as assigned

Attend staff meetings as scheduled

All employees at 1000 Figs are expected to:

Respectfully communicate with coworkers, managers, and guests

Arrives on time for all shifts

Maintains clean and organized workspaces

Be a productive and helpful part of the team, finding work for yourself in slower times

Physical Demands

Able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly during an 8 hour shift

Comfortable standing, lifting and bending for duration of shift

Feel comfortable working in warm environments

Ability to be extremely organized and efficient

Able to provide great service with enthusiasm & energy throughout scheduled shift

High energy and positivity
