Hello! Suis Generis creates weekly changing menus featuring produce from our Tiki Farm and Food Lab in Pearlington MS. Our farm features unusual and exotic plants, and we process ingredients and conduct umami research at our Tiki Food Lab.
We are looking for someone to work two days per week, Wednesdays and one day on the weekend (with some flexibility on the days). The job involves planting, harvesting, weeding, soil building, maintaining drip irrigation, bug mitigation and all aspects of organic-based farming in a garden-like permaculture food forest setting!
The ideal candidate has transportation, gardening experience, a passion to grow and cultivate unusual fruits & vegetables, and who wants to grow and learn with us as we seek more interesting and unusual ingredients for our ever-changing menu. There is also potential for long-term growth into advanced fermentation techniques, sales & distribution to other restaurants, packaging and sale of dried herbs and an array of fermented products. We also love people who can also cover shifts in the restaurant, whether FOH Or BOH.
