The Maintenance Person may be required to perform tasks of unlicensed trades, such as operating light equipment, carpentry, and painting.
The Maintenance Person practices preventive maintenance of tools and equipment and complies with federal regulations governing safety, environmental protection, hazardous waste disposal, and the use of chemical substances and materials common to maintenance of property.
Education: A high school diploma or the equivalent is required. Certification from a vocational or technical training program in one or more trades in addition to high school diploma, is a plus.
Experience: At least three years of successful experience assisting in the carpentry trade is required as well as drywall, painting and commercial construction.
Skills: Carpentry abilities are required, including the ability to use small hand and power tools, precision measuring and testing devices, mechanical equipment, and various building trades materials. The ability to understand and interpret blueprints. The ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures is required. The ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures is required.
