Position Summary:

The Gallery Director will oversee the daily operations of the gallery, including curation, sales, marketing, and event management. You’ll be connecting with clients and artists in both our stunning indoor gallery and our atmospheric carriageway entrance. The role requires someone who is both a creative visionary and an efficient manager, comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Our gallery is not only a hub of creativity but also a very pleasant place to work, fostering a supportive and collaborative atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

Curate and manage exhibitions, both indoors and outdoors.

Oversee the maintenance and presentation of the gallery’s indoor and outdoor spaces.

Coordinate and manage gallery events, including outdoor installations and seasonal exhibitions.

Build and maintain relationships with artists, clients, and the local community.

Handle sales and client relations with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.

Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote gallery events and exhibitions.

Manage gallery operations and ensure a high standard of presentation.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in gallery management or a related field.

Strong understanding of the art market, with the ability to identify and curate exceptional artwork.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, managing various aspects of gallery operations in different environments.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Proficiency in marketing, including social media and event promotion.

Passion for art and a deep understanding of the artistic community.

Compensation:

Base Salary: $30,000 per year.

Commission: Plus 10% on all sales, with the majority of your income expected to come from commissions based on your sales performance.
