We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and proactive full-time handyman to help maintain a large, well-kept private residence. The property is approximately 10,000 sq. ft. across two large lots, with extensive indoor and outdoor areas, including a pool, garden, lawn, decking, and stucco exterior. This is a long-term, steady role for someone who enjoys taking ownership of a home’s ongoing care and can manage an organized plan of regular maintenance and repairs.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a 40-hour per week, year-round position focused on ongoing maintenance, repairs, and care of a high-end residential property. The ideal candidate is someone who can identify needs before they become problems, work independently, and execute most tasks without needing to bring in outside contractors.
You will be responsible for keeping the property in excellent condition—inside and out.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General Home Maintenance
- Routine repairs for a 25-year-old home (fixtures, plumbing basics, doors, windows, locks, hardware, etc.)
- Drywall patching, finishing, sanding, and painting
- Stucco patching and exterior repair work
- Minor carpentry and general handyman troubleshooting
Outdoor & Property Care
- Deck maintenance, including cleaning and regular pressure washing
- Cleaning gutters regularly and ensuring proper drainage
- Garden and lawn assistance (coordination with landscapers if applicable)
- Maintaining exterior lighting and pathways
- Keeping the entire property tidy, safe, and well-maintained
Preventative Maintenance
- Creating and maintaining a proactive checklist of recurring tasks
- Tracking seasonal needs and planning ahead for weather changes
- Identifying early signs of issues and addressing them before they escalate
Coordination & Specialty Work
- Handling the majority of repairs personally
- Identifying when a specialty subcontractor is required
- Coordinating with subcontractors as needed and ensuring quality of work

REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of handyman, maintenance, or property care experience
- Proficiency in general repair trades (carpentry, painting, drywall, basic plumbing, etc.)
- Experience with outdoor maintenance equipment (pressure washer, ladders, basic tools)
- Ability to lift, climb, and perform physical tasks as needed
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
