Red Fox Medical Courier is coming to New Orleans; we are hiring (4 drivers)
Red Fox Medical Courier seeks (4) part-time medical couriers in the Metairie/New Orleans area. Supplies are kept at a nearby storage locker off Airline Rd, Metairie; nightly shipments will either go out of Delta Cargo at MSY airport or FedEx airport.
Route Description:
Drivers will be recovering medical samples from hospitals; you will work with dry ice. We supply all shipping supplies.
Route 1) Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday (total of 5 pickup locations, estimated route miles 70, estimated route time 2.5 hours); all hospitals will be within New Orleans, Jefferson, and Marrero. DAILY PAY $85; start time 11:45 on weekdays, Saturday 08:30
Route 2) Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday (total of pickup locations, estimated route miles 175, estimated route time 3.5 hours) pickup locations will be in Baton Rouge & Covington DAILY PAY $180; depart stg locker at 12:30
Route 3) All hospitals will be within New Orleans, Jefferson, and Marrero on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday (total of 5 pickup locations, estimated route miles 70, and route time 2.5 hours). DAILY PAY $85 start time 11:45 on weekdays, Sunday 09:30 (Sunday pay will range from $50-$80 depending on the hospitals requesting pickup; only one hospital is scheduled with 3 additional on-call locations.
Route 4) Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday (total of 2 pickup locations, estimated route miles 175, estimated route time 3.5 hours) DAILY PAY $180; depart storage locker at 08:30
All drivers are responsible for backing each other up and being a team. Routes will operate for every holiday; you must be able to work on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day if needed.
Drivers are 1099 subcontractors. They need a highly fuel-efficient car and be comfortable driving and going inside hospitals. These boxes require heavy lifting. We do not supply a pushcart, but you must be comfortable lifting (4) 25-lb boxes easily.
We are launching this work on October 21st; drivers will begin online training and possibly some in-person packing training over the weekend before getting familiar with the process. Drivers will be responsible for packing specimens with dry-ice and gel packs using the supplied shipping boxes and shipping labels. This is not an AMAZON job; it is for someone who cares about their work and ensures patients will have accurate lab testing by keeping the samples at the appropriate temperatures.
Payment for the previous week is made every Friday via Direct Deposit. We only pay via direct deposit; no checks will be issued.
