Operations Manager – Moving & Storage Company (New Orleans, LA)

A newly established and rapidly growing moving and storage company in the New Orleans metropolitan area is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Operations Manager to oversee and optimize all aspects of company operations. This position will play a key leadership role in developing efficient systems and ensuring operational excellence across all service lines, including both local and long-distance relocation services in partnership with a national van line affiliate.

Position Summary

The Operations Manager will be responsible for the strategic and day-to-day management of warehouse operations, truck fleet maintenance, personnel scheduling, and crew supervision. This individual will ensure that all moves are executed with professionalism, safety, and efficiency, while maintaining compliance with all company and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership and direction for all warehouse, fleet, and field operations.

Oversee and coordinate daily scheduling of drivers, packers, helpers, and equipment.

Implement and monitor operational processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and profitability.

Maintain compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety policies.

Oversee vehicle maintenance, equipment inspections, and warehouse inventory management.

Collaborate with the sales and dispatch teams to ensure smooth coordination of moves and customer satisfaction.

Recruit, train, and evaluate operations staff to ensure performance and professional development.

Manage vendor relationships, equipment procurement, and logistics support.

Contribute to long-term operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in moving, logistics, or transportation management.

Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate diverse teams.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with dispatching, scheduling, and operations management software.

Working knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices.

Excellent communication, customer service, and leadership abilities.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
