B&L Transportation is hiring school bus drivers for Orleans Parish schools.
B&L Transportation is a Louisiana owned and operated transportation company. We have been operating buses for over 28 years.
We offer air conditioned buses, weekly pay, and guarantee 6 hours per day.
Starting rate is $22.00 per hour
At least 21 years old
Must be able to pass a background check, drug test and physical
Meet all local and state requirements and company background.
Completed 44 hrs. of CDL training or 8 hour continuing educational certificate.
Complete all city requirements prior to hiring.
A current state issued Class A or B CDL license with Student & Passenger endorsements
DOT medical certification & be able to obtain CPNC status before hiring.
Clean CDL driving record
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lift and assist students when necessary.
Attention and considerable dexterity in the control of the school bus/van.
Must practice defensive driving at all times and avoid vehicular and industrial accidents by practicing safe driving and work habits.
Ability to maintain effective pupil behavior management over groups of children
Driver Responsibilities
Pick up & drop off students at the designated bus stops.
Perform daily pre and post- trip inspections of the bus for safe operation.
Maintain a clean bus.
Enforce rules and report any disciplinary issues.
Display exceptional professionalism at all times
Exceptional Courtesy at all times
Attend all safety meetings and other required training.
Drive students to and from field trips and other activities.
Readily able to adapt to growing and changing industry trends
Reliable attendance
Respect the concept of time
Adhere to DOT/State and municipal school bus driving laws
