Position Overview:
We are seeking a Journalist / Reporter to join our team in Covington, LA. The ideal candidate has a strong command of the English language, excellent research skills, and a passion for reporting on both local and national news. This role involves covering breaking news, conducting interviews, and producing high-quality written content that informs and engages our audience.
Key Responsibilities:
Research, investigate, and write compelling news articles, reports, and feature stories.
Conduct interviews with key sources, officials, and subject matter experts.
Monitor current events and trends to provide timely and relevant news coverage.
Attend press conferences, community meetings, and other relevant events.
Work collaboratively with editors and team members to refine and enhance content.
Ensure accuracy, credibility, and journalistic integrity in all reporting.
Utilize digital tools and social media platforms to promote content and engage with readers.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Proven experience in journalism, reporting, or professional writing (published work preferred).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and in high-pressure situations.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
Comfortable working in an office setting with occasional field assignments.
High school diploma or GED required; a degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field is a plus.
A valid driver’s license is required.
Fluency in Russian is an advantage.
