GDIT Technology Shared Services (TSS) is looking for a Navigable Relationships Senior Software Engineer to support multiple programs. This position will play a major role in strengthening and modernizing relief support for various government customers. This position will initially support a US Air Force program that is playing a major role in strengthening and modernizing America's Strategic Deterrent Force. GDIT will develop and deliver the Digital Engineering Environment (DEE) that enables and integrates the program's complete set of data, tools, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) activities, and makes them available to internal and appropriate external engineering and programmatic stakeholders throughout the program's lifecycle. This effort will culminate in an abstracted, highly transportable environment delivered to the Government, to be instantiated "virtually" on the Government's network infrastructure and updated during the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of weapon system development.

For this effort, GDIT will use cloud-based concepts including IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service); PaaS (Platform as a Service); and SaaS (Software as a service) and containerization concepts including Terraform and Docker to build out the DEE. Together, the application of these concepts will result in a Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) that supports the broad spectrum of user and activities involved in the ongoing engineering, manufacturing, deployment and sustainment of the weapons system.

Duties include:

• Incrementally create the connective links, software components and data integrations that enable the automated construction of Digital Threads by which users can navigate the broad spectrum of digital processes and artifacts managed by the DEE.
• Apply proven enterprise information management (EIM) approaches, user experience design and Agile software engineering
• Design and construct digital threads and supporting software that will enable the building of collaboration workflows and dashboards that enable teams to facilitate and accelerate processes, work collaboratively, and view progress at that moment.

Experience and Education:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 5 years' experience in the following: - Experience working in and Agile development environment
  • Experience designing reusable software frameworks and APIs
  • Experience developing production quality Java code harnessing vendor API's and open-source software libraries
  • Experience creating interactive prototypes
  • Experience communicating with technical product managers and development staff
  • Experience with XML and JSON data and technologies, e.g. Jackson, JAXB.
  • An understanding of data transforms, data visualization, and cloud use cases
• Ability to perform under pressure and handle change easily while meeting deadlines.
• Communicate with technical and non-technical audiences verbally and in writing form
• Work independently and in a team environment, to give and receive direction.

Desired Skills:

• Experience and/or certification with SAFe
• Experience with standards-based modeling using DoDAF/UAF and SysML
• Experience with modeling tools, especially the No Magic Cameo suite
• Knowledge of big data solutions leveraging graph data base technologies
• Experience building Human Factors based solutions
• Security+ certification
• Experience with Java frameworks and technologies including Eclipse, IntelliJ, Maven along with various OSS technologies from Apache, Google and other sources
• Experience working an Aerospace Engineering environment
• In-depth knowledge of DEVSECOPS
