POSITION: CustodianDEPARTMENT: HousekeepingREPORTS TO: Lead Housekeeping and Housekeeping ManagerFLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt Part Time HourlySummaryASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for Custodian at the Shreveport Convention Center/Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana. Under the direction of Lead Housekeeer and the Housekeeping Manager, the Part Time Custodian team member's primary responsibilities include the following functions in accordance with ASM policies.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedure.

Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; empty cigarette urns; replace light bulbs; refill restroom dispensers.

Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets.

Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.

Wash walls and equipment; use ladders when required in work assignments.

Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed.

Handle recycling materials.

Assist with inventory control and security.

Upholds department and Shreveport Convention Center/Municipal Auditoriums standards, procedures and policies.

Responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of equipment.

Operate machinery used for housekeeping.

Assists newer employees with acclimation to the center and provides on-the-job demonstrations when assigned.

Additional duties and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Good communication skills;

Must be 18 years of age or older

Ability to read signs and follow simple oral and written instructions

Excellent customer service skills

Must be able to pass a background check that meets corporate minimum requirements.

Teamwork oriented cooperative attitude is a must;

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines;

Must be able easily adjust to changing priorities;

Supervisory Responsibilities NoneWorking Conditions

The working hours are scheduled based on the needs the facility. PART-TIME ON-CALL scheduling.

There is no guarantee of hours on a weekly basis.

Must have reliable transportation and be able to report to work as scheduled.

Maintain a client service oriented attitude.

Ability to work long and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends and holidays and can work flexible schedules

NON-SLIP SHOES REQUIRED.

Education and/or Experience

Must be 18 years of age or older

Must be able to work independently.

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Knowledge of Banquet Event Order (BEO) preferred

Must be able to obtain a ABO Card and LATC Permit

Skills and Abilities

Ability to operate tools, and equipment used: applicable safety codes and regulations

Strong communication skills and the ability to read, and write.

Ability to interact with all levels of staff ability to quickly identify problems and resolve them.

Strong customer service orientation

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work with limited supervision

Ability to interact with all levels of staff including management

Ability to work flexible, irregular hours as dictated by the housekeeping manager, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Must be able to adapt to change in the work environment, managing, competing demands, frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
