Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission is seeking qualified candidates to be a part of our food services team, FULL-TIME/PART-TIME. Candidates must have a personal relationship with Christ and have a desire to serve the homeless. Candidates must exhibit a Christ-like attitude and must be able to serve as a witness as needed. Qualified candidates must possess verbal and written communication skills, be highly organized and detail oriented, be self-motivated, have good time management skills, must be able to multi-task, and direct and manage multiple individuals during service. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with diverse groups and individuals. ServSafe Food Handler’s Certification and Valid driver’s license a plus.
Candidates must be able to prep and cook meals in large quantities. Non-profit food preparation experience is a plus. Candidates must be able to work well with both our homeless guests and our community volunteers. Candidates will also work side by side with our guests as they learn how to work in a commercial kitchen. Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours according to needs of Food Service.
