Job Description:

This position supports the (DACF) as they create a system to track and assist farms impacted by per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) contamination. You will report directly to the project management office. Systems analysts analyze how well software, hardware, and the wider IT system fit the business needs of their employer or of client. They write requirements for new systems and may also help implement them and monitor their effectiveness.


Key Responsibilities:

Implement, maintain, and support IT and information systems to meet the business needs of organizations and scale as organizations grow. They analyze and create tests and develop specifications and requirements for developers and programmers to follow. They usually are not involved directly in software or hardware development. The best systems analysts have excellent analytical skills and are creative problem solvers. This position will be to provide approach guidance on systems architecture, specifications, best practices and no coding will be involved. 85% will we working with the Technical/Development team and 15% with business/Agency stakeholders.

responsibilities:

Role Description:


- Develop and document a detailed statement of requirements for the proposed alternative recommended in the preliminary analysis report.


- Perform business analyses of functional requirements to identify information, procedures, and decision flows.


- Evaluate existing procedures and methods, identify and document items such as database content, structure, and application subsystems, and develop data dictionary.


- Define and document interfaces of a manual to automated operations within application subsystems, to external systems, and between new and existing systems.


- Identify candidate business processes for re-design, prototype potential solutions, provide trade-off information and suggest a recommended course of action. Identify the modifications to the automated processes.


- Support and use the selected departmental methodologies.


- Advanced skills working with customers, including excellent communication skills with all levels of business as well as IT staff


- Collaborate with the Project Manager to build a path to success and to define risk mitigation strategy when risks arise


- Experience with state government, non-profit


REQUIRED SKILLSET:


- Knowledge of all phases of the software development life cycle as well as the project development cycle


- Possess strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and effectively


- Demonstrated experience in gathering business requirements and system design


- Experience in the analysis and design of complex systems


- Practical experience with test planning, execution, and acceptance criteria


- Ability to work closely with all functional areas of an IT organization


- Experience in managing and coordinating small projects that involve multiple stakeholders


- Experience in agile development methodology and practices is helpful


- Experience in leading and participating in system walk-throughs


- Experience in managing tasks in JIRA (or a similar tool) to facilitate releases and deployments


- Understanding of customer relationship best practices


- Demonstrated desire to exercise accountability in a professional manner


- Demonstrated ability to respond in a timely/and effective manner
