CPA/Senior Tax Manager for small growing firm

We are seeking an experienced CPA focused in the area of tax for a part-time position with growth and partnership potential. We have an existing client base that offers challenging work and projects.

Our client base is in the Gorham/Portland area, but we will be expanding to serve clients in other states as we grow. We offer a flexible schedule and a friendly and positive co-working environment, which can be mostly remote, work from anywhere, with weekly meetings either online or in-person.

Responsibilities:

Review and prepare individual and entity tax returns; Business, estate, fiduciary, and gift tax

Take the lead for client projects – audits, planning, business consulting

Conduct thorough tax research and stay up to date with tax laws and regulations.

Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial information and ensure accuracy of tax filings.

Assist in tax planning and provide guidance to clients on tax-related matters.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend strategies to enhance efficiency and accuracy in

accounting and tax-related tasks.

Maintain client relationships and provide excellent customer service.

Work closely with team members to ensure timely completion of projects and deliverables.

Stay updated with industry trends and developments in accounting and taxation.

Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. 5+ Years experience in personal and small business tax preparation

and consulting.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.

Proven experience in tax preparation and accounting services.

Knowledge of multi-state filings for individuals and small businesses.

Software experience with Microsoft Office and Quickbooks.

Experience with Intuit ProSeries is a plus

Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and accounting principles.

Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in paperless environment, independently and as part of a team.
