Birchwood Day Nursery School, an NAEYC accredited center in Windham, ME is looking for an assistant teacher in our 4-year-old full day classroom. This full-time position is with 9 children and the head teacher in the mornings and then floating between two classrooms each afternoon.
Our program offers a child-centered, play based curriculum that guides development in social/emotional, cognitive, physical, and language. These developmental areas are enhanced through hands-on exploration of art, music, math, social studies, health, science, and literacy activities. This assistant teacher's duties include working with the head teacher for the care and education of the children, assisting with implementation of the curriculum, classroom and learning centers, maintaining an inviting, safe, creative learning environment, and interacting with parents.
Looking for applicants with:
⢠a CDA or some training in early childhood education or related field.
⢠experience in an early childhood setting.
⢠the ability to be flexible and work as a team.
