Now Hiring: Experienced Line Cook
Walter’s Café is a locally rooted, scratch kitchen in the heart of Brunswick, serving soups,
sandwiches, and daily specials inspired by Maine’s farms and coastal ingredients. We believe
in simple, honest food prepared with care — and in creating a café environment that feels like
a second home to both our staff and our guests. We’re looking for a reliable, skilled Line Cook
to join our small, dedicated team. The ideal candidate brings a calm presence, works cleanly
and efficiently, and takes pride in consistent, well-executed food.
Position Details
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (day shifts)
Hours: Approximately 30–36 hours per week
Compensation: $18–$22 per hour (based on experience)
Start Date: As soon as possible
After a 30-day trial period, you’ll be eligible to share in daily tip distribution as part of the
core kitchen team.
Responsibilities
Prepare soups, sandwiches, and hot-line menu items to Walter’s Café standards
Manage grill and sauté stations during service
Maintain clean, organized workstations and follow kitchen sanitation procedures
Support prep, restocking, and closing duties as needed
Communicate clearly with the front counter team during rushes
Contribute ideas, uphold consistency, and take pride in your craft
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of line cook experience required
Reliable, punctual, and comfortable in a fast-paced café kitchen
Able to follow recipes and maintain consistency under pressure
Works cleanly, efficiently, and with a sense of urgency
Must be able to lift 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
Positive attitude and teamwork are essential
