Wandby Landing is looking for a Host/Host at our Kennebunk, ME restaurant.
The Host/Host will be responsible for working with the host stand and server stations to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to organize themselves in order to meet the demands of a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greet guests warmly and properly
Make recommendations on menu items and wines
Take food and drink orders from customers in a professional manner
Answer any questions about menu items or wine
Check to see if customers need anything before or after their meal
Handle cashier duties when needed (e.g. when cash drawer runs out of cash)
Clean and sanitize restaurant and restaurant surfaces (e.g. tables and chairs)
Stock restaurant inventory (e.g. condiments and food supplies) as needed
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Excellent verbal communication skills; ability to write well; ability to type at least 25 words per minute; ability to multi-task; ability to work in a team environment; ability to work under pressure; willingness to help where possible; positive attitude
