MHMMCP's next Certified Nursing Assistant Apprenticeship Program session begins March 10, 2025.
MHMMC Portland has provided expert training for certified nurse assistants (CNAs) since 1998. Our 7-week, state-approved course is offered six times per year at no charge to students. The program includes classroom work, skills labs and clinical experience - with 28 hours of training over 4 days per week.
Benefits and Incentives:
$17.34 per hour plus benefits
All training costs, including books and materials are covered by MaineHealth!
Note: Successful graduates must commit to work at MHMMC in Portland for a minimum of 1 year, at least 20 hours per week, if offered the opportunity.

Certified nurse assistants (CNAs) are important members of the patient care team. They provide direct patient assistance with activities of daily living and basic health care needs - helping patients feel safe and comfortable throughout their hospital stay.

Successful graduates may become certified by the Maine Registry of CNAs.
