Job Description:
Carpenters' helpers play a crucial role in supporting our lead carpenters at Mainely Repairs and Remodels, LLC, They are responsible for assisting the lead carpenters in various tasks such as preparing materials, handling tools, and ensuring the smooth progress of construction and remodeling projects.
Qualifications:
-Basic knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
(Must be able to read a tape measure)
-Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (80LBS), bend, stoop, and stand for long periods.
-Ability to follow instructions accurately and work efficiently.
-Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of precision in measurements and cuts.
-Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies in the carpentry field.
-Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from job sites.
-Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, both written and verbal.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Assist carpenters in measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling wood or other construction materials according to specifications.
-Prepare and set up tools, equipment, and materials needed for each task.
-Carry out general labor duties such as lifting heavy materials, moving equipment, and cleaning the work area.
-Operate power tools and equipment under the guidance of a carpenter, ensuring proper handling and safety protocols.
-Assist in installing and repairing structures, fixtures, and fittings, including doors, windows, cabinets, and trim.
-Assist in the construction and installation of frameworks, foundations, and structural components.

Schedule: Official workday is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Compensation: Hourly pay $20 - $25 Weekly pay period.
Physical Demands: Employees may be required to stand or walk over 75% of the time. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling may be required. Lifting up to 100 lbs. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Work Environment: Working in wet or humid conditions may be required. Working near moving mechanical parts. Working in high or precarious places may be required. Fumes or airborne particles may be present at worksites. Employees may work in outdoor conditions. Loud noises are typical for this job.
