The City's Homeless Services Center is the largest individual shelter in the State of Maine. A variety of services are provided to homeless individuals on site including shelter, health care and housing services. The shelter is located at 654 Riverside Street in Portland and shelters up to 250 people each day. The successful applicant must be comfortable working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with knowledge of building maintenance.Requirements:Thorough knowledge of building maintenance and ability to make repairs.Physical strength, agility and stamina necessary to withstand exposure to adverse climatic conditions.Winter operations requires the ability to respond to storm snow removal on a rotation with the maintenance.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and residents of the Barron Center.Valid Maine drivers (Class C) license.Candidates must have and maintain a good driving record.Applications accepted until 9/17/2024
