This person serves as primary support for aerial workers and manages the work zone at ground level in a safe and efficient manner.
Duties:
Set up and manage work zone at ground level in a safe and efficient manner;
Assist aerial workers from the ground;
Use task-specific knots for the purpose of tying on equipment, setting up lowering devices, and rigging
systems, etc.;
Safely and efficiently operate vehicles and equipment including but not limited to
Trucks Chippers Tractor
Stump Grinders Chainsaws
Safely and efficiently move wood, brush and debris from the work zone.
Skills/Qualifications:
Posses a clean, current Maine driver's license;
Posses a Maine CDL is a plus;
Knowledge or ability to learn basic climbing and rigging knots;
Knowledge or ability to learn ANSI A300 pruning Standards;
Knowledge of or ability to learn basic tree and shrub identification;
Knowledge of or ability to learn tree bucking, felling, pruning;
Knowledge of or ability to learn basic equipment maintenance;
Able to lift 50 pounds.
Prior experience preferred though not necessary.
