Maintenance Worker III, Streets & SidewalksDepartment of Public Works NEW WAGE INCREASE plus up to $2,500 Sign On Bonus Available! Seeking motivated individuals to perform a variety of skilled maintenance work on City streets and sidewalks and during winter operations. Requirements: Thorough knowledge of the functions and operating methods of a wide variety of light and heavy construction equipment. Ability to operate equipment efficiently and safely. Ability to make minor repairs. Good visual acuity for driving and physical strength, agility and stamina necessary to withstand exposure to adverse climatic conditions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and members of the public. Must have good customer service skills. Must be able to work outside in all elements of weather. Must be willing to work mandatory overtime during winter period. Must possess valid Maine Class B driver’s license. Must undergo a pre-employment medical exam and lift assessment and pass federally mandated drug test if applicant holds Class A or B license. Must have and maintain a good driving record.

Salary & Benefits: This is a union position, Labor & Trades (Grade 18) - Salary range - $1030.00/wk. ($25.75/hr.) to $1,093.20/wk. ($27.33/hr.) based on qualifications and years of experience.
