Job Description: Redemption Center Attendant
Position Overview
A Redemption Center Attendant is responsible for the overall operation of the redemption center. That includes emptying full machines, cleaning, assisting customers, inspecting and hand counting bottles among other things. This is a year-round part-time position usually 15-30 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner. Assist first time customers with operation of RVM’s.
Accept, count, and sort returned bottles, cans, and other eligible containers according to center guidelines.
Issue cash refunds to customers based on the number of accepted containers.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the redemption center, including sweeping, emptying bins, and handling spills.
Operate RVM’s and other equipment safely and efficiently.
Follow all safety procedures and center policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
Prepare bagged and binned containers for pickup by distributors.
REQUIREMENTS
MUST be able to lift, push, pull 50+ lbs weight routinely and repeatedly.
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS.
MUST be at least 18 years of age and able to work by yourself.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Customer service experience.
Ability to perform basic math calculations and handle cash transactions.
Physical stamina to stand on your feet all day.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions (indoor/outdoor, noisy, dirty, etc.).
Reliability and punctuality are essential.
