ABOUT US:
Creative Trails has been around for over 18years as the community support program of Support Solutions which is a private, Non-Profit Organization. Support Solutions has been providing direct care and support services to individuals with intellectual and mental health challenges in central and southern Maine since 1997.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Spend your workdays exploring the coastal and wooded hiking trails in Southern and Central Maine, or spend time in the vibrant city making art, volunteering, or engaging in agricultural experiences all while supporting individuals with intellectual uniqueness as a great team! Creative Trails has Community Support Direct Support Professional (DSP), Community Membership DSP Openings!
The Community Support Programs have openings at the South Portland programs; where they do outdoor adventures, art, and community connectivity.
The Creative Trails Community Membership Program is an innovative experiential Community Support Program for adults with intellectual uniqueness. DSPs (Direct Support Professionals) will facilitate and/or engage in 1:1 (staff to participant) or 1:2 activities that are driven by the participant's and staff's passions which include, but are not limited to art, seasonal outdoor activities, agriculture, occasional farm to table style gardening, yoga, winter sports (skiing/snowboarding), First Friday Art walks, concerts, going to the gym, surfing sailing and much more!
Program hours can vary. Currently hiring for Part-Time (Monday-Wednesday) We can meet your schedule needs in many cases!

We provide our Direct Support Professional staff with paid training, (DSP, CPR/FA, Safety Care). In return for your commitment to making a difference in the life of someone else, Support Solutions will provide a fun and rewarding work environment, benefits package, and PAID in-house professional development (training- Direct Support Professional certification, CPR/First Aid, and Safety Care). Also, Support Solutions status as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization may qualify you for Federal Student Loan Forgiveness.

Advocate and serve as an appropriate role model for the individual, and treat them with dignity and respect.
Participate in developing and carrying out plans to meet the needs of the individual.
Organize, supervise, and interact with the individual supported.
Be creative with planning activities in the community.
Transport individuals in the community in a company van.
Complete required documentation.
To be considered a GREAT CANDIDATE you must
Have a high school diploma or GED
Willingness to undergo background checks in accordance with local law/regulations
Have an acceptable driving record and background checks (including criminal, driving, the OIG, DHHS, APS, and other governmental agencies)
Have a valid MAINE driver’s license and a reliable insured vehicle
Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
