The American Red Cross is seeking a General Maintenance and Fleet Tech for our Portland Red Cross Blood Center in Portland, ME.
Scheduled Shift is Mon-Fri, 8am to 5pm (flexible - 40 hours). On call is required. Valid Drivers License is required.
Offer includes a $1,500 sign-on bonus. Up to $8,000 annually in on-call pay.
Main facility is 16,000 square feet. Fleet of 26 vehicles across 3 facilities.
Under general supervision, the General Maintenance Fleet and Tech will perform repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment. The General Maintenance Fleet and Tech typically performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair and electrical. Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment. Use hand and power tools to test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machines and equipment. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.
