Work from home in Southern Maine!
We are a growing California group counseling practice looking for an Administrative Assistant to work closely with our Claims Dept. Head, located in the West End of Portland. Experience with health insurance claims preferred but not necessary. Training will be in-office but after that it will be virtual. Hours are flexible M-F between 11am to 8pm to access during Pacific time-zone.
As a Claims Admin. Asst. you're responsible for following up directly with insurance payers to resolve billing issues and secure appropriate reimbursement in a timely manner. You will be trained on how to contact and analyze denied insurances and how to submit them or how to find the missing payments by calling insurers.
We use Simple Practice as our online platform; the majority of insurance claims go through this system.
Initially you'd work directly with the Claims Dept. Head in Portland, Maine, to learn the process, then be able to work from home pretty quickly.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Any knowledge of insurance billing is welcome but not required
Knowledge of Simple Practice platform welcome but not required
Computer skills.
Strong phone, written and verbal communication.
Time management skills.
Ability to prioritize daily workflow
Patience while being on hold with insurance payers (such as Anthem and Kaiser) and dealing with other insurance customer service reps.
Daily task-list and end-of-day phone call with Dept. Head to check on progress.
