Bowers CPA is looking for an outgoing individual to serve as the first point of contact for our clients. This is a year-round in-office role in downtown Rockland.
Desired Start Date: asap in December or January, to facilitate training before the tax preparation season really starts buzzing.
About Bowers CPA: Since 1990, our firm has served the needs of midcoast Maine customers with both personal and business tax accounting and tax preparation services.
What it’s Like to Work Here: Our staff all share a positive attitude, problem solving abilities, and patience, enabling them to provide excellent customer service even during the busiest times of tax season. We have built a team with diverse backgrounds but equal dedication to our clients’ needs. The pace of work is brisk from January through May, and eases somewhat from June – December.
A Day in the Life as the Office Manager: It varies throughout the year! Our OM sits at the front desk, and as the first person customers engage with when calling or entering the office, you will answer questions about our services and status of client work, receive incoming documents, schedule appointments with tax preparers, contact clients when work is completed, and process client payments. You will also help scan documents, assemble completed tax returns, send files via secure online portals, and prepare postal mailings. The Office Manager also monitors and orders office supplies, manages our basic WordPress webpage, updates software, and coordinates with providers for maintenance and service needs. Because we handle sensitive financial and personal data for our clients, you will need to ensure compliance with our policies, procedures and security requirements as well as government regulations.
