Maine Technical Source is seeking a Sales Support Specialist to work from their office and showroom in Yarmouth, Maine. This new role is a great opportunity for a career-focused person with a ‘can do’ attitude to learn the business from the ground up and contribute to the success of MTS.
Requirements of the Sales Support Specialist:
High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Related experience in sales/customer service supporting technical products preferred; experience in construction/engineering/surveying a plus.
Interest and ability to learn about the technical specifications of the products to understand their use and explain the technology to customers, as well as trouble shoot issues.
Interest and flexibility to support the MTS team in a variety of areas that include sales, customer service, administrative, technical support, and marketing outreach.
Strong customer service orientation and a desire to solve problems and work with customers to meet their needs.
Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers and the MTS team.
Tech savvy with an interest in and knowledge of IT/software programs and ability to troubleshoot software and technical issues.
Ability to work from the Yarmouth office/showroom on Monday through Friday, 8-5, and ability to travel to other office sites (NY, MA), trade shows and client sites occasionally.

Responsibilities of the Sales Support Specialist:
This is a new role established to learn from MTS’ veteran sales team to grow, develop, and take on more responsibility over time. Individuals who demonstrate an eagerness to learn, a commitment to the business and to MTS customers, and who don’t have to wait to be told what to do next, will have an opportunity to take on more complex work and more client interaction over time.
Support the MTS sales and office team in the sales of advanced, high technology instruments used in surveying, engineering, and construction. This will include a variety of responsibilities ranging from demonstrating products to customers in the showroom, answering questions, assisting with product set up, and providing product training.
Provide quotes, pricing structure details, and technical support to customers through phone inquiries, showroom visits, website contact, etc.
Greet customers in the showroom, answer questions and take showroom orders.
Submit all customer order and repair ticket information timely and accurately; follow up or resolve customer issues in a timely manner.
Serve as the main point of contact to coordinate and respond to customers regarding training and customer events.
Stay up to date on new technology regarding hardware and software solutions through self-guided learning, vendor training, and other resources.
Support MTS marketing outreach efforts that highlight products, training, and events through social media platforms and other communication methods. Assist in keeping website up to date and user friendly.
