At Mad Science, we are having a BLAST! We pay you to have fun! Build and fly rockets, demonstrate lasers, explore the states of matter using dry ice, and help children create slime and other polymers. You will inspire the next generation of scientists through our innovative activities that show kids what science is really all about. You will lead students through an inquiry-based discovery method involving instructor demonstrations, hands-on activities, and amazing take-home projects that will illustrate how science affects the world around us. Mad Science is the world's leading provider of fun science programs for elementary-aged children.
This is a part-time position and is somewhat seasonal. Pay for all Areas of Business (AOB) is hourly including set-up and clean-up time. Starting pay is $22.00-$25.00 per hour DOE.
We are looking for HIGHLY ENERGETIC, CONFIDENT AND ENTHUSIASTIC individuals to join our growing team to conduct exciting science, engineering, and technology programs during after-school and morning time slots. You do NOT need to be a certified teacher (although we love that!).

Northern, coastal regions of Maine (Knox County, Bass Harbor, Machiasport, Hampden)
New Hampshire (Rockingham, Strafford)
Responsibilities:
Facilitating day camps, in-person workshops, and after-school science enrichment programs for children from preschool through elementary school
Deliver high-energy, part entertainment, part education, hands-on programs that meet for one hour each week for approximately 8-12 weeks.
Drive to various locations across Southern Maine. Some programming takes place in northern parts of New Hampshire and northern, coastal Maine.
Enjoy teaching young children the art of science!
Attend paid training sessions virtually and/or at our office.
Attend the mandatory Friday Staff Meeting every week (paid).
Be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Be on time for all scheduled activities.
Adhere to strict safety and cleanliness guidelines.
Qualifications:
Must be available a minimum of TWO, consistent weekday afternoons, 12-5pm. While this is a part-time position, it is critical that you are able to commit to the length of any given program (school season, camp session, after-school program, etc.), and that you are able to give us steady weekly availability.
Must have a personal vehicle, as you will be transporting equipment and conducting programs across our service territories.
Must be available for Friday meetings, in-person 12-1pm
Some experience working with/ teaching groups of elementary-age (4-12) children (such as an after-school teacher or camp counselor).
Minimum of 1 year of college suggested. Degrees and/or graduate degrees are a plus.
