Local business seeks individuals with a diverse skill set to help us manage and run our two businesses, (Cinder Wood Products and J. Paquin and Company). Cinder Wood Products produces Japanese-style charred siding at our shop in Hancock and J. Paquin and Company provides high-end painting services as well as a cold-applied roofing membrane, (Kemper Roofing System). We are in need for immediate help from someone capable of shifting between the two companies for the time being. Work consists of site work as well as production work in our shop. This is a perfect job for a seasoned individual with a background in the trades who is looking for solid, well-paid employment through the winter and beyond with a group of people who want to do our part to support you in your career journey by providing a pleasant and healthy workplace. We are willing to train the right people to be part of our team who may have a different background as well.

Some details:

We are a startup family of companies, and we are still in the startup phase. This will mean that there will be shifting gears and at times changing plans to accomplish all that we are trying to do. This can be a problem for those that want to basically just "punch a clock" and do the same things day in and day out over and over for years. We want to clarify this is not that kind of job, and we would need you to assist us in navigating this stage until the next stage, which is very close on the horizon, (large-scale expansion). The trade-off for having this kind of flexibility will be there will be more flexibility for you and what you need to do in your life, (personal schedule, child care obligations, time off, etc), and you will be compensated better than most other businesses in the same line of work. Give us your best, and we will go to the ends of the earth for you.

We strive very hard to keep things enjoyable here. You will be around many amazing people including super gifted timber framers and other artisans of various types. We like good music, good coffee, laughing and most importantly succeeding. It is a very inspiring work environment and we will stop at nothing to keep it that way. In light of that, here are some important details regarding what it will take to thrive here:

1. No hard drugs or huge unmanaged issues with alcohol

2. No drama or back-stabbing, gossipy stuff

3. If you smoke, understand that most of us don't and smoke breaks need to be kept reasonable so we don't have to put in place all kinds of rules

4. You must be a hard worker and fast learner. You must also understand that you cannot call out all the time if you want to work here

We are hiring for a number of different positions, but all of them will require doing hands on production work right alongside the company's owner. Depending on your experience and skillset a role will most certainly be tailored for you. We will do whatever is necessary to help our employees thrive, grow professionally and enjoy their work. The key is understanding that these things are earned and not given without putting in the necessary effort.

Now, on to brass tacks:

Hourly pay starts at $22.50 and goes up to $28.50 per hour to start. We will do a 90-day review at which point you will be eligible for a raise. We anticipate the type of growth which will sustain very good income for people, and that is a core principal of ours. We want people to have financial freedom who work here and your efforts will not go unrewarded.

Perks:

1. Employer insurance contribution after 90 days

2. Holiday pay after 30 days

3. Vacation hours accumulate from your first day. Those who make greater contributions to the company's success will have their waiting period for vacation waived and vacation time will be available right away. Vacation time varies from 1-2 weeks depending on your contributions.

4. If you make sales for us you will receive a commission check of 10% of the sale price

5. Boot allowance after 30 days

6. Company computer for managers

7. We can discuss the possibility of a company truck for someone who was truly crushing their job with us
