Landscape Masons
Stephen Carr Property Services is looking to fill the position of Landscape Mason. This position will join our growing crew! This position is responsible for installing masonry and hardscape projects of various sizes. We are seeking a motivated individual with a positive attitude who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in their work and can work well with others. This position will join our already hard-working team of landscape installers working along the Maine and New Hampshire seacoast.
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of Experience in Masonry and Hardscape Installation
- Understand site grades and how they are found and calculated
- Understand how to read architectural plans and layouts
- Professional Degree or Certificates Desired
- Valid Driver’s License Required
- Pictures of work of previous work
- Have a strong commitment to detail and efficiency
- Must be prompt, punctual and the ability to self-motivate
- Operate machinery safely and properly including excavators, skid steers and front-end loaders or on the Job Training will be given
- Safely and properly load materials into a dump truck.
- Keep track of tools and materials in an organized manner
- Operate snow equipment during winter months when needed
- Capable of working overtime when needed to meet project deadlines
- Ability to lift over 50 Lbs.
Thorough knowledge and Application of the following skills are required:
- Identification of Natural Stone
- Ability and understanding of necessary base prep
- Ability to install stone steps, patios, walkways, outdoor kitchens, stone veneer and fire pits
- Ability to layout and build stonewalls both dry and wet as well as Stone Veneer
- Understanding of specific masonry tools for example saws, carbide chisels, grinders etc.
- Knowledge of Concrete, Rebar, ARDEX and Mortar
- Understanding the differences between permeable and non-permeable applications
- Understanding elements and uses of natural stone, clay brick, concrete pavers and concrete block.
- Knowledge of compaction for base prep of patios, walkways and driveways
- Knowledge of installing proper base footings
- Ability to template stone caps
- Ability to cut and install capstones
