SKILLED CARPENTER

Portland Renovations, Inc. is a professional design-build construction company that has been in business for over 20 years in Portland. We are seeking a fast paced, competent, skilled carpenter to join our small team. Our website demonstrates our work:

www.portlandrenovations.com

We are a frame to finish design-build company that specializes in modern work. We are team oriented and involve everyone in problem solving, design ideas, etc. The end result of our work will be a product that everyone has contributed to.

We are not seeking someone who has simply "been doing this for X years". We are seeking an individual who is passionate about construction, tools of the trade, design, building science and truly wants to build something that challenges their skillset.

This offer is most definitely not for any individual who is simply looking for a paycheck for the week.

Must have:

1. A positive attitude and a willingness to explore new ways of creating the built world.

2. A clean, presentable, professional appearance.

3. 5-7 years minimum experience in construction / remodeling ; shop experience is a big bonus but not the main focus.

4. His / her own professional tools and reliable transportation.

5. Attention to detail and a full understanding that time is money.

6. This is intended to be your full time occupation, i.e. you do not have other gigs that will interfere with a 5 day work week.

7. If you have less experience but are dedicated and motivated, you will definitely be considered.

If you are dissatisfied, frustrated or bored with your current job, do not get paid every week, join our team. We do not offer benefits in the traditional sense, but provide profit sharing on projects should one be responsible for early completion, more efficient methods of working, etc. Basically, if you help the project somehow, you get a bonus.

Our work is diversified and very rewarding. Our shop is well appointed with modern equipment and is available for personal use after hours for side projects or personal projects. We work with a wide variety of materials and finishes, have our own spray booth and fabricate all of our steel work you see on our site. Your responsibilities will simply be working. All of the management, material deliveries, major problem solving will already be complete.

Additionally, we do not frame, install siding or perform any other long term exterior work in the winter when it's extremely cold. When it's that cold, we work in the shop building all of the cabinet work for the project.

This position is for a 1099 subcontractor but not for just one project. We have excellent work lined up through 2026, all in the Portland area.

Please send either a resume or simply outline your experience in your response. If you have any pictures of work you have completed that would be very helpful.

The perspectives you see in the ad are what we are starting now in Portland.
