Candidates could be assigned to one of the following vessel routes: Vinalhaven, North Haven, Swans Island/Frenchboro or Islesboro. Must be familiar with Ferry Service Vessel's deck operations. Must be licensed with the USCG as Ordinary Seaman. Must be willing to clean passenger cabins, heads, pilothouse and other vessel spaces. Stand helm and lookout watches. Perform minor maintenance and painting. Work involves weekends, holidays, and those hours necessary to cover a 7 day on 7 day off, up to 11.5 hour per day rotation. Performs other duties as required by immediate supervisor. Must be in possession of a valid TWIC.We do require that all interested Applicants must possess a valid U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariners Document (MMD) with OS endorsement and a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential). The applicant selected for hire must submit to and pass pre-employment drug screening as outlined in 49CFR Part 40. To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:Graduation from high school or equivalent and experience as a deck crew member on vessels operating on ocean or coastwise routes.Required to have a current TWIC Card - Transportation Worker Identification Credential Card.
