Supervisor - Overnight - Childrens ResidentialJob Code:12677Location:Saco 04072Department:Staff Intensive SupvFT/PT Status:Full TimeSummary:Maintains ongoing residential effectiveness by assuring the administrative coordination of a variety of safety, therapeutic and operational issues. Responsible for administrative activities and supervision of overnight staff. Supervision of Assistant Supervisor, program YFCs and relief YFCs.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Make sure that adequate supplies are in the residences for morning routine.

During the night, visit/contact each home twice to ensure residences are secured during the overnight.

Maintain documentation for overnight staff and their units.

Communication with each residence prior to night shift arrival.

Integrate the work of the school by routinely coordinating residential and educational interactions.

Serve as Supervisor on Duty when assigned by assuming responsibility for phone coverage, crisis intervention, ensuring adequate staffing, and good communication with appropriate on call administrator.

Coordinate with HR and supervisor about hiring, recruitment, and retention of employees.

Collaboration with the training team to meet requirements of licensing needs.

Effectively employ and ensure that appropriate therapeutic crisis intervention (T.C.I.) procedures are occurring within program.

Participate in the development and implementation of the CARE model using the 6 CARE principles.

Monitor job performance by facilitating one hour a month of individual supervision.

Monitors staffing hours and use of supplies to remain within budget.

Direct, support, and participate in identifying, removing or reducing the likelihood of common safety concerns.

Collaboration with the treatment team to ensure milieu treatment is in line with the Individual Treatment Plan.

Timely completion of required documentation

Maintain clear understanding and oversee compliance with licensing regulations and COA standards.

Completes special projects as assigned by Director.

CRMA certified, responsible for passing medicines and appropriate documentation.

Demonstrate an understanding of the organization’s safety policies and practices by attending required safety programs and reporting all accidents and suspected safety hazards to supervisor.

Fulfill job function by participating as an active member in all organization training and leadership training for supervisors, and by participating on organization task forces.

Ability to support and recognize the important role volunteers play. Sweetser employees work with, support, collaborate with volunteers, and promote opportunities for volunteer engagement.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or five years related experience and/or training, including Other Qualified Mental Health Professional certification; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

Internal candidates must have achieved Youth & Family Counselor Level III.

External candidates must pass the competency tests of a Youth & Family Counselor Level I, II, and III.

Must obtain certification as an Other Qualified Mental Health Professional within one (1) month of assignment.

Must maintain a valid state driver’s license.

EXPERIENCE:

Supervisory experience.

Four years’ experience working in the Youth and Family Field.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Ability to work with youth with behavioral diagnosis.

Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with other professionals on behalf of youth and their families.

Capacity to develop a professional orientation to childcare.

Able to relate to children with warmth and understanding, and have the ability to identify the needs and problems ofchildren.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and other employees of the organization.

At least an intermediate proficiency using a personal computer.
