Where Hard Stuff is Done Right!We are seeking an Electronics Engineer to support our work with the U.S. Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, MD. The Electronics Engineer will work under senior engineering staff to learn and apply advanced antenna and electromagnetic (EM) theory in the modeling of highly complex and advanced electromagnetic phenomenon within a multi-disciplinary program. The Engineer works directly with senior technical personnel, program managers, and external organizations in the planning, execution, development, and evaluation of various Radio Frequency systems and other technical products.HII has been providing engineering and management support to the U.S. Army Research Laboratory for over 10 years, and the exciting work we do for this customer keeps growing with new and continued support within the field of EM theory, simulations, and analysis. Design, develop, document, and test EM and propagation simulation software. Apply numerical methods via writing code using commercial software. Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborates with designers and/or engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of numerical methods to solve Maxwell’s Equation for EM applications. Develop project requirements; analyzes system capabilities and troubleshoot EM phenomenon. Develop system output requirements, input data acquisition methods, and programming techniques.What you must have: 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in realted field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience. Experience with Python and MATLAB. Experience in applying numerical methods via writing code using commercial software. Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary environment. Preferred Requirements High-Frequency Structure Simulator FEKO computational EM software X Finite Difference Time Domain (xFDTD) EM simulation software Physical Optics and Method of Equivalent Circuits Geometric Theory of Diffraction and Uniform Theory of Detraction Experience in solving boundary value problems Experience with finite element methods, method of moments, and finite integration techniquesPhysical RequirementsMay require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment.
