We are looking for a compassionate Male In-Home Care Aid in Annapolis to join our team! As a Care Aid, you will provide essential support to individuals, particularly autistic children, helping them build independence and improve their quality of life. This position is ideal for dedicated caregivers who are open to total care and are passionate about making a meaningful impact through guidance, skill-building, and personalized care. Immediate availability is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility, tailored to the individual's needs and abilities.
Provide companionship and emotional support through active listening, empathy, and meaningful engagement to foster social and emotional well-being.
Promote a safe environment by identifying hazards, addressing safety concerns, and ensuring the security of the individuals under your care.
Work effectively with individuals, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care and address concerns or changes in care plans.
Monitor and report changes in patient health status.
Qualifications and Skills
Experience in hospice, home health, or other related fields
100 hrs of experience working with kids with disability, preferably Autism (experience can include shadowing, volunteering, or supporting family members).
High school diploma or equivalent required.
CPR and First Aid certification required
Empathy and a genuine desire to help others.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Patience, adaptability, and a calm demeanor in challenging situations.
Physical stamina to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
Reliability, punctuality, and adherence to schedules.
At least one year of experience working as a care support specialist.
